You can configure edge storage (on-camera storage) for Axis cameras to provide video recording redundancy.

To support edge storage you need firmware 5.40 or later. Cameras that currently support 5.40 or later are listed here: http://www.axis.com/techsup/firmware.php.

Continuous Recording

1. Go to RecordingsContinuous.

2. Check the Enable box.

3. Select the storage disk, and choose the Stream profile.

4. Click Save.

Event Recording

1. Axis cameras support varying events such as motion, input triggers, etc. Please consult the Axis documentation for information on setting up these events.

2. Once the events have been set up, go to EventsAction Rules in the device’s web interface and click the Add button.

3. Give the Action Rule a name.

4. Select the Trigger (event) from the drop-down that was configured in the first step.

5. Under the Type drop-down menu, select Record Video. Then, select the Stream Profile created in the initial section above, and select the Storage destination (SD Card or Network Share). Configure any of the option settings in the Duration section and then click OK.

Scheduled Recording

1. Go to EventsSchedules in the device’s web interface and create the desired schedule.

2. Go to EventsAction Rules and click the Add button.

3. Give the Action Rule a name.

4. Select Time from the Trigger drop-down and select the schedule created above from the Schedule drop-down.

5. Under the Type drop-down menu, select Record Video. Then select the Stream Profile created in the initial section above, and select the Storage destination (SD Card or Network Share). Configure any of the option settings in the Duration section and then click OK.
