Target Cropping: Cropping on third stream video. Available resolutions in Target Cropping area include all options in third stream resolutions. Users can drag and select a certain area as the Target Cropping area on the image with the maximum resolution. The third stream resolution in Configuration->Video interface would be coherent with the Target Cropping area resolution. The pixel density in Target Cropping area is the same as that in maximum resolution image.
SVC (Scalable Video Compression): Analyze the delay and packet loss statistics and self-adaptively extract the frames. Therefore, the bit rate is reduced while the resolution is maintained.
All the series of Hikvision IPCs support SVC.
Smoothing: Adjusting the size of I frame. In video streams, I frame>P frame>B frame. By decreasing the smoothing index, I frame size is increased and the image is clearer. While increasing the smoothing index, the size of I frame would be decreased and would get close to P/B frame size. And the image looks smoother.
The smoothing index can be used to adjust the stream bandwidth. The adjustable range is 0-100 and the default value is 50.
Face Detection: Face Detection function is fulfilled by the camera. The face features such as eyes and mouth would be recognized. The detection highly demands the size of face shown in the image and the angle to the lens. We recommend users have the camera installed close to the desired detection region and make sure people face the camera directly.
Notice: Face Detection is different from Face Recognition. In Face Detection, the detection of faces in the whole image would trigger the alarm and notify surveillance center. The regions of detected faces would not be captured. The Face Recognition Camera is able to capture face images and upload to server for face comparison.
Rotate Mode: Rotate the video image by 90° (anticlockwise), namely switch the vertical and horizontal pixels. For example, the resolution of 1920×1080 is shifted to 1080×1920 after Rotate Mode is turned on.
In Rotate Mode, the resolution in vertical direction is enhanced to adjust to narrow environment such as the corridor, so that further images can be recorded.
Notice: In Rotate Mode, the image is rotated by 90° anticlockwise. Thus the camera has to be rotated by 90°clockwise to compensate the image direction.
All the Hikvision IPCs support Rotate Mode.
ROI (Region of Interest): Maximum 4 regions of interest are configurable for individual streams. Detected faces and license plate can be set as ROI and tracked dynamically. In low bit rate situation, the encoding resources would be mainly allocated to the ROI to improve the image quality. The improvements can be controlled through the ROI level. The activation of ROI function would reduce the image quality of other region, while sufficient bandwidth would eliminate the effect of ROI.
In 2 Series, fixed ROI can be set for each stream and dynamic tracking is not supported. For 4 Series products, 4 fixed ROIs can be allocated for each stream and dynamic tracking is not supported.
Mirror function: Mirror function is usually used when the device is installed upside down, and can be turned on in image’s advanced configuration.
The main stream with high resolution and full frame rate can be used for main monitoring and recording.
The sub stream with lower resolution can be used for mobile monitoring.
Some devices support third stream which offers more flexible choices.
H.265 Pro is obtained by algorithm optimizing of H.265.It can efficiently ensure large cost saving on video storage for users.
Counting: In Counting function, users can define detection region and the entering direction. The camera will then detect moving objects and calculate the number of objects entered or exited the detection area. The counting statistics can be displayed on screen through OSD. The real-time counting statistics can be stored and exported through Excel after configuring local storage (SD card or NAS).
Notice: Counting statistics can be stored only when SD card is inserted. Without SD card counting statistics is not available.
Currently 4 Serial cameras support Counting.
